[No.042] The Project of Korean Spicy Pork

My husband and I have loved our local tofu house restaurant for years. We order the same thing every time we visit which is the Spicy Pork with Pork Tofu Soup. Well, we decided to take a chance and try to make it ourselves in hopes it would come out the same and it TOTALLY did! Today's recipe will cover just the spicy pork dish.

KOREAN SPICY PORK

Ingredients
  • 1 LB Pork Belly, sliced

  • 1 Onion, sliced

  • 2 Scallions, cut into 2 inch length (remove roots)

  • 2 Tablespoons Oil

  • 2 Tablespoons Gochujang

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Gochugaru/ Paprika

  • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar

  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Garlic, minced

Directions
  1. In a medium bowl, mix the Gochujang, Gochugaru, Soy Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Sugar, Garlic

  2. Add in the pork, onions, and scallions and mix well until the meat is covered fully in the marinade

  3. Place pork with marinade in the fridge for at least 3 hours so the seasoning and flavor settles within the meat

  4. When ready to cook, heat a medium pan on medium high heat and place the 2 tablespoons of oil

  5. Place a couple of pork pieces on the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until meat is fully cooked

  6. Once the pork is all cooked, serve with fresh steamed white rice and ENJOY!
