[No. 023] The Project of a Bachelor & Bachelorette Party

Last August I got married and it was the best day of my life. I married my best friend, and I was surrounded by the people who meant a lot to us. Of course before the wedding, there's usually a bachelor/bachelorette party. What we did was combine it which to some, they may not like it this way, but for my husband and I, we didn't mind having a larger group and just being all together.

Thanks to our wedding party, we had a fun, relaxing time celebrating. If ever, you want to spend sometime in the San Francisco area, these are the things we did during the weekend to enjoy our bachelor/bachelorette party. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott, San Francisco Downtown, which wasn't a bad location since it was nice to walk around.

We did a low key Bar crawl in San Francisco. We went to (3) different bars that night. Depending on which company you go with, you will meet at the first stop where you will join your group and guide. After this first stop, your guide will take you to the next bar stops until the end of the night.

The following day we did a food tour in the morning which is about 3 hours long. The tour guide took us around The Mission in which he brought us to multiple different food places, explained the history and story behind each place and even the city itself. Visit Foodie Adventures for more information. Chris Milano was such a great guide, you will never get bored on this tour. This is a walking tour, so be prepare to walk a lot. But I guarantee you will have a blast doing this.

The next stop was Treecraft Distillery where we were given a tasting flight of 6 different spirits that they make and they also included a house-made cocktail. At this time, we looked on groupon for this event so you may want to check groupon or visit their website directly if you're interested in trying this tasting. They have different spirits from Lavender Hibiscus Gin, to Early Grey Tea Gin, to even a Chocolate Bourbon. This was a very nice private place, and our group was given our own spot to be able to enjoy our flight of spirits, talk, and just enjoy.

After the distillery, we went to Boudin's to get some food in our stomachs. Boudin's is famous for their sourdough bread and they have delicious clam chowder. This is a great spot to really have the bread soak up the alcohol in your stomach (lol). We went to the Boudin's located on Pier 39 where there are other restaurants, shops, and nice places to check out. We definitely made a stop at Trish's mini Donuts. These donuts were so delicious, I would like to stop here every time I visit San Francisico. They were tiny, soft, and not crazy sweet for my taste.

In between a nap before dinner and enjoying the mini donuts, we stopped at a park that shows the view of the Golden Gate bridge from the bottom. It was so beautiful. I've been to San Francisco multiple times, but I never saw the golden gate bridge from the view I saw it last year. Golden Gate Vista Views is always a nice place to stop to see the views, and instaworthy!

To end the night, we visited North Beach. So for the Wiki summary of North Beach, "North Beach, a buzzy neighborhood steeped in Italian heritage, draws locals and tourists to its checked-tablecloth trattorias, coffee shops and retro-flavored bars. The spirit of the Beat Generation can be felt at the storied City Lights bookstore and the memorabilia-filled Vesuvio Cafe bar".

We ate at Original Joe's Restaurant, and it was one of the best Italian food, I've had. I loved the Chicken Marsala and Linguini Pesto. The atmosphere in the restaurant just brings you back to the olden times. It felt historical, it was very intimate, and the food was just amazing. This was a great way to end the night from the festivities we did.

When it comes to the day you will be having a bachelor/bachelorette party, this may not look like the "ideal" way of how most celebrate, but if you are looking for a way to be surrounded by your wedding party and enjoying the time with them, this is a very fun and relaxing way to do so. It truly is up to you and the things you want to do and whether you want to do it separately or not, but either way, ENJOY! We had a blast relaxing with friends and family and being together.
